Festivities for a proper sendoff

What a great night out!  BLVD club on 4th St, absolutely incredible company, unbelievable food and a few too many bottles of wine...such a terrific way for a send off.  What was pretty spectacular, was the impromptu puppet show put on by Mark, using merely a napkin and the DJ booth.  We had to do some smooth-talking to get in there in the first place!
Well, I'm 15 hours away from my flight out.  All packed, well mostly, and while trying to nurse this hangover from last night, I'm madly blogging away!
Signing off for now - next post will be who knows where!

Monkey!

I love this photo!  As I am about to embark to the land of monkeys, I thought it fitting to preemptively add this one in.   I subsequently did get my rabies shot....just in case.
Here's Mark and Evsen (Tarkan, quietly sleeping like an angel in another room).  Two of my favourite people.  Lucky me to have a standing invitation to their place in Fernie, minutes from the ski hill.  This particular night, after a smashing day of skiing (think fresh powder!!!), we ended up in the front room of their bungalow, chilling out with a couple of friends.  After much consumption of wine and some good laughs, (no, Evsen, don't name your dog "crotch" it will only end badly!) the evening came to a close.  The next morning, we found Mark wedged between the couch and the table!  Clearly, the bedroom was just a little to far away...

Lisa's goodbye party!  Dueling pianos, Aussie style..How fun!  Here is Lisa, Ashley and myself after a few blue hued martinis (what the heck was in there, anyway?).  Note the tiara, a definite party must-have.

My family!

Here we are in Rincon, Mexico in March, what a trip!  Whale watching, putzing about on the beach, sunsets, zipline tours, and an adventure in Puerta Vallerta - envision "The Amazing Race" Krull-style.   Pure madness.

All good, and would do again....

What a great night out at home!  Naturally, the feather boa and tiara appeared, seemingly out of nowhere!  Jason, Lisa and Victoria - some of my closest friends, all at my place celebrating the fact that it was Friday. Ah, Friday!

Pre Nepal musings

Ok, so I've never blogged before, there's some stress prevailing right now - what do bloggers write about?

I am creating this blog to begin to document the adventures about to ensue in Nepal...I'm in the prep phase thinking about all those things I don't need to bring with me, wondering about those things I don't yet know, and sometimes asking myself, what does a Yeti look like, really?
